Support
Email [email protected]. That is the support route for FEN — one address, read by the people who build the app. There is no ticket system, no account to sign in to and no phone line.
You can also reach the same address from inside the app: Settings → Help & Support → Contact support opens your mail app with it already filled in.
Before you write
Most questions are answered in the guide, and it is quicker than waiting on a reply:
- Groups — expenses, balances, settling up, closing a group.
- Friends — invites and adding people to groups.
- Settings — profile, storage backend, additional devices.
- Backup & recovery — new phone, lost phone, and what comes back. Start here for anything about a missing account or missing groups.
What to include
FEN has no server, so nothing about your situation is visible from our side. We only know what you tell us. A report that includes this can usually be answered in one round:
- What you did, what you expected, and what happened instead.
- The app version — Settings → Help & Support shows it under the FEN logo.
- Your iOS version and device (iPhone 15, iOS 26.1).
- Which storage backend the group uses, if the problem involves syncing or sharing.
- Whether it happens every time or happened once.
Screenshots help. Please do not send your key backup file or your folder password — they are the keys to your data, and support never needs them.
What we cannot do
- Recover an account with no backup. Your account is a key held on your device. We have no copy, and there is no reset link. See Backup & recovery.
- Read, restore or delete data in your groups. It is stored encrypted in storage you provide, and the keys never leave the members' devices.
- Support your storage provider. Problems with the Nextcloud instance itself belong with whoever runs it.
Bugs and feature requests
Please send bug reports and feature requests to the same email address.
Privacy
Questions about privacy, and reports of anything in the app that contradicts the privacy policy, go to the same address.
Emailing us means we hold your message and your email address for as long as it takes to answer you. That is the only personal data FEN's developers ever receive, and it is there because you chose to write — the app itself sends us nothing.
